Practical paddock preparation
Kelly tillage is also commonly called Kelly chaining, Kelly discs, disc chains, Kellys or Kelly harrows. Our contracting uses Kelly disc chain harrows for paddock preparation, weed control and stubble management.
Kelly chaining is a main focus of Ag & Hire. We offer 12m and 18m machines, with experience built through our own farming and contracting work.
As specialists in Kelly disc chain harrows, we offer heavy-duty CL2 discs on the front of our machines for maximum weed kill, depending on soil, stubble and weed conditions. CL2 discs are also available on a hire arrangement, alongside a range of other disc types to help match the machine to your job.
Kelly chains can combine weed control, stubble management and seedbed preparation in one pass. Alongside the heavier CL2 option for more aggressive cultivation, CL1 discs suit lighter cultivation and stubble incorporation, while prickle chains provide a lighter option for knocking down stubble, breaking up clods and levelling seed trenches after planting. We can help choose the setup for your conditions.
Multiple machines are available through our large hire fleet, giving us flexibility to help meet your timing requirements. Dry hire is also available if you have your own tractor and operator.
